Let’s be honest, January hits a bit different…

Different foods, sleep can change, more movement starts, more stress from new routines, food habits still not regulated …

The scale often goes up — not necessarily because you’ve gained body fat, but because your body is holding:

• Extra water (from carbs, salt, alcohol - esp after weekend)
• More food volume
• Bloating or slower digestion
• Sore or swollen muscles if you’ve just started moving again
• Inflammation from hormonal shifts, stress and poor sleep

All very normal.
All temporary.

This is exactly why January isn’t about punishment or extremes.

What helps right now 👇

💧 Hydrating
💪 Regular workouts (don’t go crazy)
🧠 Calming your nervous system
📸 Using photos + measurements instead of obsessing over the scale
🥘 Eating nutritious food regularly
🧁 Reducing sugar

I opened my phone for 5 minutes and now even I feel behind 🤣 POOR YOU 😭

Something just feels ‘off’ about the amount of ‘shoulds’ right now 🤨
 If it’s making you feel overwhelmed, confused, or like you’re failing — it’s not you! It’s your sign to pause.

You don’t need to do everything. You don’t need to keep up.

If something makes you feel worse about yourself, it’s allowed to unfollow it, or step away from your phone.

Take time to think through what feels right, and in another few weeks this craziness will have calmed down & you’ll have more headspace anyway. So just one foot in front of the other right now.

My inbox is always open 🤍 One mum to another.

2025 feels like a biggie ❤️

We’ve travelled loads, made mega memories, my business turned a mind blowing corner as you know with the success of my Core Builder + the new Kate’s Mum Fit Club app 💥🤯 The kids have made huge leaps in their own little lives 🥲 Doing my in person classes again (& with them) made me VERY happy… & I’m so proud of hubby with his bodybuilding wins / work / academic wins 😳

Admittedly I’ve had to make a few decisions to keep a lid on the business and not let it get too busy - I want enough time to keep making special connections with you and supporting you all ❤️… and of course have enough time to be the best mum I can 🫶

Despite all the positives - I’ve always shared hard times too because life isn’t supposed to be easy 🤗 but it is what we make it and so ladies make sure 2026 is a good one for you ☺️!

Your journey feels like one huge mountain to climb… & you can’t see why a short workout is worth it… but then 👆

The mum struggles with endometriosis & fibroids, which made her feel like a consistent exercise journey was beat on impossible..

And to be honest - it could have been - if she chose the wrong journey to take …

Stress incontinence for ten years - meant not even being able to walk fast or cough without a little leak 💦

This mum needed to rebuild her core again, in a safe + well supported way ❤️

When you loosen the reins and ease the Christmas pressure… ✨💕🎄

Over the last week, I let it go!..

The house was upside down.
Christmas still needed organising.
Work needed doing.
There’s a break away to prepare for…

BUT instead of powering through in stress mode… I chose memories 🫶

I still moved my body, relaxed with food, and dropped the overwhelm 🙌

If you’re in the thick of it - you don’t have to do it all perfectly to be doing it well…

Christmas is in 5 days - don’t spend it feeling guilty or stressed + enjoy 😅

Every time you show up for your core workouts, you’re:

• Building deep core muscles
• Drawing the tummy in from the inside
• Healing your abs
• Strengthening your pelvic floor
• Shredding inches over time

Chocolate Berry Overnight Weetabix 🍫🫐🍓🍌

If you’re not eating chocolate at breakfast yet this season,🎄 start with THIS 🤣🤭

Its high protein, I usually have half before my workout + half after - but you do you 😜

Ladies it’s no “light breakfast” that leaves you raiding the Celebrations cupboards at 10am 🤣 (so effectively you’re eating LESS chocolate 😜!)

💥 Chocolate Berry Overnight Weetabix

🍌 1 mashed banana
🥣 2 Weetabix
🥛 150ml unsweetened almond milk
🍓 50g berries
🍶 200g Greek yoghurt or SKYR
🍫 50g dark chocolate (yes… 50g. It’s festive season 😆)

•Mash the banana into the Weetabix & milk layer so it goes soft, sweet and almost cake-like - trust me 😉

•Layer it. Chill it. Wake up excited for it.

That’s the vibe 🤌✨

Per serving (½ the full recipe)
339 cals: 15g protein

👇 Festive twists

🎄 Chocolate Orange (Terry’s vibes)

Add ½ tsp orange zest in to the yoghurt
Add 2–3 drops orange extract or essence
Swap 50g dark chocolate for Terry’s Chocolate Orange pieces (30–40g)

🍒 Black Forest (Gateaux vibes 😮‍💨)

Use frozen cherries instead of berries (50g)
Add ½ tbsp cocoa powder to the yoghurt layer
Sprinkle mini dark chocolate chips on top

5 steps for inspo …👇 (I need number 5!)

You’ll show up as more present, feel more in control and the kids will see a happy mummy too 😍

1️⃣ Keep 3 Non-Negotiables

Something tiny you can actually do, even on chaotic days:

💛 5–10 mins movement (exercise / walk / dance!)
💛 Drink more (hydration is magic for the brain & body)
💛 A moment to breathe (self reflect, pause, deep breaths)

2️⃣ Say “No” to One Thing

Take one thing off your plate this year - an event, a tradition, or a task that drains you. Don’t be afraid to do this, you’ll sigh with relief

3️⃣ Split the Load

Ask for help (even if it’s out of your comfort zone) or delegate one job: If someone offers to help, take it because you don’t need to carry Christmas on your own.

5️⃣ Protect Your Evenings

Choose at least 2 evenings a week where you wind down instead of catching up on life admin / work / chores (I need to do this!)

👉 Rest is a productivity tool

👉 Choose Memories Over Perfection

Your kids won’t remember the perfectly wrapped gifts

They’ll remember you - calm, present, and happy ☺️

Have joyful time ladies…. Don’t drown in chaos

What this mum describes is so normal especially as we juggle a million things. Please don’t beat yourself up for being human!!!

Hitting a wall & one tough week doesn’t undo your good work, but thinking “what’s the point?” Keeps you stuck.

The food wobble isn’t a failure - it’s just a signal that we need to simplify things and take the pressure off 💁‍♀️

A couple of little mindset shifts that really help:

1️⃣ Exercise still “counts” even if food hasn’t been perfect. Moving your body gets you feeling mentally stronger and in control again. Small workouts all add up & keep you in good shape

2️⃣ You don’t need a perfect week to make progress - you just need more good days than wobbly ones.

3️⃣ Start with ONE tiny win (a 10-min workout, a high-protein breakfast, a walk, writing a shopping list, a big glass of water). Tiny wins rebuild momentum fast.

4️⃣ Draw a line and move on 💁‍♀️ Yesterday doesn’t get to decide today!

5️⃣ You may think one short workout doesn’t make a difference - but over time BIG results actually do come. Play the long haul like I do.

🙌 You can turn this around — you’ve already proven you can do the good weeks. Now we just need to make the “hard weeks” feel a bit less all-or-nothing!!

Because one week of the scales not changing would normally make her feel ‘demoralised’ …even though the measurements have gone down 😳

These EXACT moves are absolute gold for mums ✨

SAVE FOR LATER 🩷⬇️

If you’ve taken time off (hello mum life 👋), these are the exact gentle, at-home moves I used to switch my core back on.
 Nothing crazy. Nothing jumpy. Just slow, controlled, feel-good exercises that target the muscles you actually need.

Because honestly? You don’t need to “go hard.” You need to go smart.

1️⃣ Side plank lifts. (I inhale on the floor + exhale as I lift & reach to target the core)
2️⃣Toe taps
3️⃣Reverse curls
4️⃣Leg circles
(👉With these 3: Inhale on the way down, exhale + engage the core on the way up)
5️⃣ Bridge lifts: Squeeze + lift (ie engage the glutes). Keep hips nicely aligned
6️⃣ All fours leg extension into leg lift. Hips aligned, slow, controlled movements, knee at 90 degrees as you lift 👀

Just do a few reps of each to begin with (even if it’s just 2, that’s ok 👌) Your core will be cheering you on by the end. 🙌💛

(👉With these 3: Inhale on the way down, exhale + engage the core on the way up)
5️⃣ Bridge lifts: Squeeze + lift (ie engage the glutes). Keep hips nicely aligned
6️⃣ All fours leg extension into leg lift. Hips aligned, slow, controlled movements, knee at 90 degrees as you lift 👀

Just do a few reps of each to begin with (even if it’s just 2, that’s ok 👌) Your core will be cheering you on by the end. 🙌💛

I know that you have no motivation, or don’t know where to start, or you’re had some time off exercise like me - and now feel it’s all a bit pointless ?? I hear you 👀😆

Imagine if I threw in the towel every time I had time away from exercise … or ate all the ‘wrong’ foods for a few days ? I wouldn’t ever have made any progress ever !

Sometimes it feels overwhelming - and on these occasions I just START SMALL

It’s ALWAYS WORTH IT. It gets us back on the wagon if nothing else …

But actually just a ten minute burst of my core exercise (or less) does absolute WONDERS for the body

My new Core Builder for example… it’s 10 MINUTES A DAY, 5X a week 😱 that’s it 😱! And have you seen the jaw dropping results !!!?

Same with you website members who do my weekly workout plan 🙌… or my squat challenge (30 reps of a squat exercise daily)

All from a tiny burst a day 👇

Inches lost / bloating gone/ no more peeing when you sneeze / feeling stronger / fitting in pre pregnancy clothes / no more back ache and hip pain … not to mention MENTAL HEALTH IMPROVES! I swear i am not myself without my fault burst of exercise 😕

Im not asking my Core Builder ladies to go to the gym, to do more than ten minutes, to do any cardio or go on a diet 🫣!!! It’s literally just the RIGHT kind of exercise CONSISTENTLY…

That’s gotta be doable right? And when it’s TOTM or we’re busy or like me if you’ve been unwell… just think ‘a half hearted effort REALLY bloody counts’ - and before you know it you’re moving forward and your body WILL CHANGE!!
